Hohner Diatonic Harmonica - 560/20 Special 20 - Key of Low F (090048-HD)   STATUS - NOW AVAILABLE - Email or Phone to Order
Hohner's most popular professional-level diatonic harmonica for many years. Well known and respected for its great tone and bendability for blues. Played by millions of harmonica players around the world. Used and recommended by many famous professional harp players including Charlie McCoy ("undoubtably the most recorded harmonica player in history" - Field, K., 2000, Harmonicas Harps and Heavy Breathers, Cooper Square Press). Special 20 harmonicas are exceptionally warm sounding, airtight, and have bolt-on covers and replaceable brass reed plates.

"Durable ABS plastic comb with recessed reed plates for playing comfort. The stable, airtight construction and full sound make the Special 20 one of the most popular diatonic models.

Awesome response, superior bendability and the sweetest tone ever. This harp is the first choice for those learning to play. Its special airtight design makes it the most recommended go-to harp for harmonica players of any style, including blues, country, folk or rock. The plastic comb doesn’t absorb moisture making it longer lasting. Harp of choice of harmonica virtuoso John Popper (of Blues Traveler) and played by Bob Dylan on his 2007/08 tour. Chances are your favorite player has several of these harps in his case. 12 major keys plus lower and higher octave tunings. Also available in a Special Country tuning with a major 7th in cross harp position."

He currently sings and plays harmonica, mandolin, mandola etc. with a celtic/folk/blues band, Headland and a celtic/gypsy band, The Gypsy Tarts. Dane has researched and practiced instrument maintenance, repair and tuning in earnest for the last five years or so (since retiring from full-time professional work), and during this time has often been privileged to meet and learn from some of Australia's premier artists and technicians. On the qualifications side of things, Dane has undergraduate degrees in Engineering and Business, and post-graduate qualifications in Information Technology and Education. He works as a part-time engineer and academic these days, and though he loves teaching computer engineering he enjoys himself much more when working on instruments and playing music!

MandoHarp supplies and repairs reed and string instruments for local music shops and individual musicians - we sell to our friends. At MandoHarp our pimary areas of expertise are Mandolins and Harmonicas, hence our name. We also have contracted associates who work with a wide range of instruments, especially folk. This is our first foray onto the internet and we look forward to meeting many new musical friends here. At MandoHarp we appreciate fine instruments and we want you to have them!

About MandoHarp Instruments
