Loudbark Custom Timber Microphones
Designed and manufactured in Australia by Australian harp players.

Manufactured in Victoria by Loudbark for use with vocals, harmonicas, brass and other instruments. These wonderful timber microphones are low impedance (500 Ohms @ 1KHz) and thus work fine into an XLR vocal mic input or a low impedance instrument input.

Since the mic is at the high end of lo-Z mic impedance range (< 600 ohms, see Impedance Matching for Microphones: Is it Necessary at Shure, and Bruce Bartlett's Impedence FAQ) and most modern amps use bridging inputs, plugging into Hi-Z inputs seems to work very well for us.  See the Loudbark element specification sheet here.

Note: At MandoHarp we're currently working with a US harp mic manufacturer to design and produce a small inline device that provides switchable hi/lo impedance (see Audio Transformers at Shure) and volume control. Stay tuned for more on this soon!

Above is a picture of Dane Clarke's Loudbark Leaf Mic as it was delivered. As you can see the microphone is excellently packaged in a small zippered gig bag and comes with a microphone stand attachment that allows you rest the mic's XLR input lead into the attachment and just slide it out when you want to loudbark around the stage a bit.

At MandoHarp we play the instruments we sell! Each of our musician and craft associates has over thirty years experience within their area of expertise. A brief report is written and stored in our database for each item, noting paticularly our expert assessment on receipt, any work performed on the instrument and its final condition.
