The 16306 1847 Silver Paddy Richter employs the Paddy Richter tuning developed by Brendan Power, specifically for playing Irish and other celtic tunes. Paddy Richter tuning provides the missing sixth without bending in the lower octave when playing in first position. It is also ideal for playing Aeolian Minor (Natural Minor) mode in fourth position and Dorian Minor mode in third position, The tuning provides the root note in the bottom octave in fourth position (which is missing in standard Richter tuning), and similarly provides the missing fifth in the bottom octave in third position.

the overtone-rich sound can spread out unhindered - covers opened wide at the back and crimped and therefore a good stability and rounded edges
