| High quality strings for Electric Guitar. Flat-Wound. Tin coated Trebles. Ball-End. From Thomastik-Infeld. Hand-made in Vienna with the highest quality materials under strictest quality control since 1919. |
"A remarkable string that prompts comments like: "I never knew a string like this existed!".
This is the legendary flatwound jazz guitar string! A list of its players reads lika a Jazz Hall of Fame and it's still the undisputed king of flatwounds, for many of today's jazz greats.
A true flatwound (not a "ground wound" or "compressed wound" like some of the pretenders) with glassy smooth polished nickel winding on a round core, it has the perfect balance of fundamental to overtones required for traditional jazz. Some players claim that its mellow, powerful tones actually improve with age!"

Thomastik-Infeld wound strings are made up of a number of layers.
According to the desired sound and handling characteristics, we then choose a surface material (material of the outermost layer). Next we select the type and number of layers and the material for the inner layers.
We decide between round wire and flat strips and determine how many strips and wires are wound in parallel, i.e. simultaneously. Proviso: mass per length. |
