Diatonic Harmonicas

Tuning

At MandoHarp we can tune your diatonic harmonicas to the specifications or provide special tunings, e.g. for celtic straight-harp players.

GOOD NEWS!! 30th August 08 - We have a new harmonica technician coming on board in the next few weeks so we'll be able to catch up with our backlog and again offer our harmonica repair and tuning services to all. We hope to be able to accept harmonicas for repair and tuning again from the beginning of November 08. We're also working to have a range of specially tuned harmonicas available before Christmas. Suzuki Harmonica Blow Tester

HARMONICA REPAIRS ACCEPTED AGAIN!! 15th November 08 - We are now able to accept harmonicas for repair and tuning again with the kind assistance of Dave Stewart of Werris Creek and Lawrie Minson of Tamworth. Please contact Dane by email or phone (02-66554545) if you'd like to discuss harmonica repairs. Over the next few days we'll be contacting several people who've been in touch in the past about this. We are also currently in the process of obtaining accounts with the Australian Hohner and Suzuki distributors to reduce our reliance on importing instruments and parts from the USA which has become much less viable recently due to the savage drop in the AUD and the failure of some US suppliers.

Customised Cover Plates

Coming up at MandoHarp - Customised Cover Plates for the major brands and models of diatonic harmonica. We plan to soon provide personalised cover plates for Australian harp players. Engraved and inlaid metal and wooden cover plates will be available.

Custom Combs

At MandoHarp we're experimenting with some new comb materials and will have custom wooden and metal combs available, particularly focusing on Australian timbers.

Reed Plate Replacement

MandoHarp can provide reed-plate replacement for the major models of Suzuki and Hohner chromatic harmonicas. We're working on finding suppliers of reed plates for other chromatics.

Coming up at MandoHarp - Customised Cover Plates for the major models of Hohner, Hering and Suzuki chromatic harmonica. We plan to soon provide personalised cover plates for Australian harp players. Engraved and inlaid metal and wooden cover plates will be available.

About MandoHarp

At MandoHarp we play the instruments we sell! Each of our musician and craft associates has over thirty years experience within their area of expertise. MandoHarp supplies and repairs reed and string instruments for local music shops and individual musicians - we sell to our friends. At MandoHarp our pimary areas of expertise are Mandolins and Harmonicas, hence our name. We also have contracted associates who work with a wide range of instruments, especially folk. This is our first foray onto the internet and we look forward to meeting many new musical friends here. At MandoHarp we appreciate fine instruments and we want you to have them!

About MandoHarp Instruments

All MandoHarp instruments are tracked from the moment of their original creation or purchase. Each instrument is assessed by an expert musician when received and again before offering it for sale. A brief report is written and stored in our database for each item, noting paticularly our expert assessment on receipt, any work performed on the instrument and its final condition.

Personal Service

At MandoHarp we like to get to know our customers - we're musicians and we like to get to know other musicians. We love to talk with musicians whenever possible [probably a bit too much! :)]. Inspections, trials and pickup by prior arrangement are welcome at our workshops in Repton, near Coffs Harbour on the NSW North Coast.
